The Wondrous World of Goofy’s Candy Company

Go to Walt Disney World enough and you’ll begin to develop rituals, little traditions, things that you HAVE to do while you are there. For our family, Goofy’s Candy Company has become one of those rituals.
It began on our kids’ first visit to the parks. We arrived at our resort late, so after wandering the grounds for a bit, we decided to run down to Disney Springs. While strolling around, we came across Goofy’s Candy Company. Our kids eyes grew to the size of candied apples staring through the window. We’ve been going back ever since.
If you’ve never visited this delectable location, you should know that the smell of the place alone could give you a cavity. It’s a wondrous, magical place guaranteed to turn the feistiest of curmudgeon into a starry-eyed child again.
Inside, you’ll find a wide array of sweets, from the pre-packaged (like sour balls, gummies, and popcorn), to items like hand dipped chocolates, cupcakes, and more. One of the most charming options is the “make your own” treat.
The process is simple: find an order card and mark down your choices. You can make a caramel apple, a marshmallow, a Mickey Mouse gingerbread cookie, or a Mickey Crisped Rice Cereal treat. Your next selection is what kind of dip you would like on your treat. You can choose between white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate. You then have a whole bevy of toppings to pick from: sprinkles, mini M&Ms, peanut butter chips, chopped peanuts, chopped pecans, sliced almonds, cinnamon & sugar, dark & white chocolate chips, crushed Oreo cookie crumbs, crushed Butterfingers, coconut, or Graham Cracker crumbs. A single topping is included, but you can add more for $1 per each additional topping. Once you’ve finished making all your selections, you then hand your order form to a cast member, who will make your delectable creation right before your eyes. When they are finished, your name will be called (in case you didn’t stand at the counter to watch as your treat was created).
Cost on the items varies, with an apple running $10.99, the crisped rice treat costing $5.49, and the marshmallow and cookie costing $4.99 respectively. Apples are not snack credit eligible, but the marshmallow, crisped rice, and cookie all costing one Disney Dining Plan snack credit.
The experience is charming from beginning to end and the resulting dessert is sure to have you bouncing off the walls and giggling like a lunatic out of sheer joy.
