Jedi Training Academy: Trials of the Temple

by | Jul 23, 2018 | Disney Entertainment, Disney Parks and Resorts, Lists and Trivia

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

The Jedi Order has assembled a group of Force-sensitive younglings to test their abilities. These future padawans have been brought to the Jedi Temple where they will be trained to wield a lightsaber and in the ways of the Force. Unfortunately, not even this hallowed space is safe from the reach of the Dark Side.

Does your youngling want to aid the Jedi in their quest to defeat the Empire and overcome the power of the Dark Side? Here’s what you need to know.

1. What Is Jedi Training Academy: Trials of the Temple?

Jedi Training Academy is a stage show at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios that allows children age 4-12 to train as future Jedi Knights and even fight some of their favorite Star Wars villains, such as Darth Vader and The Seventh Sister from Star Wars Rebels.

There is also a brief show featuring a confrontation between the Jedi and Kylo Ren. Will the Jedi be able to ward off the Dark Side and maintain their faith against Kylo’s mighty powers? You’ll have to watch the show to find out.

2. How Do You Sign Up?

You sign up at the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost, located between the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and the 50’s Prime Time Cafe. All participants must be present at the time of registration, which begins at park opening. Be aware that space is limited and fills up very quickly. You can’t register ahead of time. To ensure your youngling gets to participate you’ll want to sign-up first thing in the morning.

3. Where and When?

There are multiple showtimes throughout the day. You’ll be assigned one when you sign-up. Make sure to let Cast Members know about your Fast Passes and dining reservations. While they may not be able to accommodate, they will attempt to find a show that works with your schedule. The stage show is located on Echo Lake, near the Star Tours Attraction. The show lasts approximately 20 minutes.

4. What If The Shows Are Full?

If you don’t get registered in time, all hope is not lost! You can sign up to be on a stand-by list, in case someone doesn’t show up or cancels. However, you have to show up prior to each show to see if there is space available.

5. PhotoPass

There will be tons of photo opportunities throughout the show, but with crowds of parents watching their younglings it can be difficult to get shots of your own. Luckily, there are PhotoPass photographers available at the event who will be taking shots throughout the show. If you have the Memory Maker package, these photographs will be automatically included in your package.

The process of becoming a Jedi is not easy, but just remember: your youngling’s ally is the Force. And a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you. Here, between you…me…the tree…the rock…everywhere!
